Lentil Soup with red lentils

Wash the red lentils. Peel the potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic clove and cut into small pieces.

In a pot (better pressure cooker) first sauté the onions in butter (alternatively oil). Add the potato and carrots. After 5 minutes, add the garlic and tomato paste. Then add the red lentils and water.

After the mixture has simmered on low heat for 30 minutes, you can season with salt and pepper, add a little lemon juice.
